There has been a lot of hype about B Unnikrishnan’s “Villain” movie which is Mohanlal’s big budget movie after Pullimurugan. The film is being produced by Venkatesh. Now the movie has set a new record in its audio rights sale even before its release. Bollywood’s famous music label “Junglee music” has grabbed the audio rights of Villain for a huge amount. Junglee music had spent 50 lakh rupees on this.
Villain is the first Malayalam movie to ever have its audio rights to be sold at such huge amounts. Usually the Malayalam movie audio rights are sold at about 10 to 15 lakhs.
Villain completed its shoot in Wagamon yesterday. B Unnikrishnan had earlier done 3 movies with Mohanlal which are Grand Master, Mr Fraud and Madambi. Villain has already impressed us with its bad-ass tagline which is “Good is bad”! The film is shooted fully in 8k resolution camera and is one of a kind.
Manju Warier plays the female lead in the movie. The movie is also star-studded with other major stars like Vishal and Hansika from Tamil and Sreekanth and Rashi Khanna from Telgu. Peter Hein who had earlier won the national award for best Action Choreography through Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan will again be showcasing his talents in Villain along with Stunt Silva.
Manoj Paramahumsa is the cinematographer of Villain. Other technicians behind the movie are the famous playback singer Prashanth Pilla as well as Ranganath Ravi and Shameer Muhammed. “For Movies” who had earlier done Music for Oppam has done music direction for Villain.
