Godha: A Recipe of Comedy with Wrestling

India’s experimental film industry is none other than Mollywood and that is a well known truth. This industry is filled with lot of young film makers who continously came up with great films and here the April boxoffice queen Godha is also a part of it. It is a Malayalam Sports comedy movie, which tells the tale of a place called Kannadikkal where a group of peoples are mad about wrestling. The film’s story is about a charming girl, Aditi Singh who is from Punjab and met by a guy called Anjaneya Das who came from a family of wrestlers but loves cricket more than the family’s sport. Both met at Punjab where Anjaneya was there pursuing his M tech. Here a series of events will lead them to land on Kerala and so on. We are not here to spoil anymore story here, you must go and experence it by yourself because this is the review for the peoples who haven’t watched it yet, so we will go through the technical aspects and performance behind it. It is Basil Joseph’s second  directorial venture after the hit, Kunju Ramayanam and here his dedication can be seen on the movie’s perfection which we can easily say that he had moved from good to the excellent film maker. Written by Rakesh Mantodi, highly entertaining and pure dialogues gave this film an upbringing experience for the audience expecially the explanation of the beef by Tovino is still remarkable. And good compliments to the music director Shaan Rahman who always excite his fans with his talent and the Cinemaographer Vishnu Sharma who made the frames simply outstanding.

Starring Tovino Thomas, Wamiqa Gabbi, Renji Panikar, Aju Varghese. Tovino is not the upcomming superstar, he is already a superstar and Renji Panikar’s body transformation for this film and Aju Varghese’s light hearted comedy are praisable. When we talk about the Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi, we can’t talk anything because honestly there is no words for it. She is a bold actress, where mollywood must be thankful for the director for casting her in his film. She stole Malayalam film lover’s heart with her performance as the main lead in this film.

This non-stop entertainer is a must watch for all kinds of audience. Don’t compare it to any other movies of the same genre which may disappoint you because its not a mass masala film or patriotic wresling film, its just wresling with a pack of comedy and some romance so Just grab some popcorn, then go and enjoy thats it.

Vertikal media gives a rating of 3.3 out of 5 and predicting that it will gross 20 crore in the boxoffice.
